For this unit me and two other peers presented a presentation on the Guarani tribe. This tribe is a tribe that lives in the rain forest and they have known to be living in the Amazon rain forest for as long as this rain forest has been discovered 500 years ago.The Guarani tribe are a well known tribe in the rain forest because they are known to be the creators of the sport “Football” or “Soccer”.The Amazon is significant to this tribe because they are low on money and rely on the Amazon’s environment to provide them with food and shelter. It is also very significant because it provides life & shelter to all the Guarani people.

Social studies reflection-Human Rights
In term 2 I conducted a H.R Social inquiry on Slavery in Africa.
Some of the main causes as to why Slavery in Africa is/was a big thing is people are just forced to become slaves they have no choice but to become slaves and the reason they are forced is usually because they have no house,no place to stay and therefore they are living on the streets and people are then taken and forced to become slaves.
Some of the consequences are people are killed.
One of the perspectives are from a girl named Murimata she is 100% against slavery because when she was having a baby she was told that once the baby was born she has to be given to men and raised up to become a slave.
My perspective-I am totally against slavery because i think that everyone has the right to live a normal life and not be forced and told how to live their life. This is violating one of the rights in the Human rights and i think that it should be stopped because every human should have the freedom to enjoy life and make choices on their own.

Darker side of chocolate.
Our lesson about Child Labour- Child trafficking(Summary).
Today we watched a video about child trafficking in Ghana. We watched and did a little lesson about child trafficking and how people in Canada will never understand the pain children in Ghana go through to make the chocolate. This child labouring in Ghana is a serious matter. Farmers slowly began to realise the benefits of fair trade and if they joined the union they were guaranteed a fair price for their beans. The only rules of this fair trade was child labour was not allowed and all the money raised from fair trade chocolates were put back into the community. Before fair trade was introduced to Ghana there was no water or anything no lakes streaming through the town till fair trade was introduced a water pump was put in the community.
What can you do to help these communities?I think that if people go shopping and see fair trade products i think they should think about the children going through child labour in other countries and buy fair trade products instead.I also think that people can raise awareness for this by posting about this on social media, advertising, putting out posters and passing on the message through to the rest of their friends and family.
My opinion:From me i think i prefer to buy fair trade chocolates now,i never knew what fair trade was but seeing what children in Ghana go through all the hard work to make those cocoa beans to make chocolate just to make other children in other countries happy.I think that more people should buy fair trade items so that all the money can be given back to people that need it.I also think that fair trade is really helping these kids to get off the cocoa bean farms and get into schools and get the education the have the right to have!
